The Lightning Theif
I LOVE this book. It is absolutely one of my favorite books. I like it because I adore mythology and fiction. It has alot of mythology because it talks about greek gods. But, I didn't know a lot about greek gods. So, I researched about greek gods and then I understood this book more. I recommend this book to skilled readers who love fiction and mythology.
Annabeth- Her mother is Athena and at the end she reunites with her. So, in the beginning she acted like a know-it-all but she was a big help. Plus, I had a feeling that her and Percy were flirting a little bit by holding hands and "arguing' with eachother. Annebeth really changed throughout the book. She used to be a little shy and a know-it-all but in the end she opened up and helped out alot with her brains. When Percy first saw her he thought of her looking like a "California girl" She had tan skin and curly blond hair. But Percy thought her eyes ruined the image. She had grey eyes like storm clouds. But, Annebeth is one of the most important characters.
This story is about a kid named, Percy. His life is pretty cruddy. He always gets kicked out of school and he is dyslexic with a topping of ADHD. Also, he has havn't seen his dad in a very long time. So, he has a stepdad named, Gabe and he treats Percy like he was a worthless child. But on the bright side his mom is warm,loving, and caring. So, he goes on a trip with his mom. Then, things turn for the worst. They crash and next thing you know a minotaur is charging at them. The mom gets squeezed by the minotaur and disappears. Then Percy dodged the minotaur and it crashes into a tree and also disappears. He drags his friend Grover to Camp Half-Blood. After he gets a quest to recieve Zeus' Lightning bolt. He has to go get it from the person who stole it and return it to Zeus. He brings it to Zeus and next to Zeus is Percy's father, Poseidon. You have to read the book to find out what happens.
